Future Prospects of Health, Medical, and Environmental Industries

The economic paradigm is shifting toward sustainable growth, placing health, medical, and environmental technologies at the center of future promising fields. The health, medical, and environmental industries are expected to establish themselves as next-generation growth sectors characterized by high added value and public interest.
More specifically, as environmental diseases caused by climate change, radioactive materials, chemical substances, and emerging infectious diseases increase, there is a rising demand for specialized personnel in building environmental pollutant monitoring systems, biomonitoring, and developing prevention and response technologies for environmental diseases. Furthermore, as the establishment of health, medical, and environmental systems becomes critical for national security and public health, the demand for talent with expertise in these related fields is expected to continue growing.

Accelerated Bachelor's-Master's Degree Program

The Accelerated Bachelor's-Master's Degree Program allows students to obtain both degrees within five years of undergraduate admission. Undergraduate students in the School of Health and Environmental Science can complete their bachelor's degree in 3.5 years and their master's degree in 1.5 years, earning both in a total of five years. By building a foundation during the undergraduate years and gaining expertise during the master's course, students can achieve higher competitiveness by adding just one year to the traditional undergraduate period. Students entering this program who meet the relevant requirements are eligible for a full waiver of tuition and admission fees for the first semester of their master's degree, along with various other scholarship benefits.

Undergraduate Researcher Program

Students interested in thesis research and pursuing graduate studies can apply to join faculty laboratories as undergraduate researchers. This program aims to stimulate interest in the major and deepen knowledge by providing early research opportunities. It is also designed to strengthen the connection between undergraduate and graduate studies, allowing students to enhance their research capabilities early on in preparation for advanced degrees.
