Academic efforts toward these ends are no longer a choice but a necessity for survival. Since the environment surrounding humans directly impacts health, research based on the convergence of health and environmental sciences must be supported to enhance healthy living and the quality of life.

Health and Environmental Convergence Science is an integrated discipline. it combines Health and Medical Science, which aims to improve public health through disease prevention, diagnosis, and rehabilitation throughout the human life span, with Environmental Science Technology, which focuses on managing pollutants in various surroundings (natural, living, and occupational environments) and developing eco-friendly energy.

The School of Health and Environmental Science at Korea University is a future-oriented, cutting-edge department establishing a new paradigm that merges public health improvement with medical and environmental sciences. We offer two specialized majors: Environmental Health Safety and Health and Medical Science.

Specifically, the Environmental Health Safety major provides comprehensive academic and technical education on water and air pollutants, as well as environmental radiation, which is emerging as a new environmental hazard. The Health and Medical Science major offers education starting from diagnostic medical sciencesmincluding public health, immunology, and physiology to the use and protection against nuclear energy and radiation, and further into the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and the necessary medical devices.
